Hello everyone!


I bought new PC couple of weeks ago and yesterday I installed Heroes of Might and Magic V Bundle from GOG, first of all wanted to play Tribes of the East.
Game is working on win10, but there is some kind of lag I can't fix in game. Actually, for the most part the game is fine, but the auras that are supposed to spin below the hero's feet on the map aren't spin smoothly and it is like that on every unit ( also on neutrals who guard mines and buildings) on map. It is really annoying situation.
I am using Radeon RX 470 MSI gaming X graphic card, installed driver is Crimson ReLive Edition 17.4.2.
Beside that I am not able to fix Vsync, so please any help is really appreciated, simply no effects on Vsync in the game, no matter what I do in this Crimson program...

I have a much lower spec than you and can recreate a similar problem to yours, and overcome it. It may not be the problem you are experiencing though.

If I "roll" the view (up/down not left/right) to the lowest height level (giving the most distant view) then I also get some jerkiness when scrolling around the map. If I roll the view to give the view from the highest level then I get perfect smoothness. Have you tried simply rolling the viewpoint? (hold down R/Mouse button and move mouse toward you).
I know some people only play from a low perspective and it wouldn't even occur to them to change it. Note this is not a setting thing from a menu, simply an in gamescreen adjustment you can modify on the fly.

I do understand you are talking about the circular patterned icon beneath each hero, but it might be solved by simply tilting the viewpoint from low to high.

I have tried what you have described with view height change, but problem still stands. When I hold R/mouse button and I tried to move mouse in any direction the screen is rotating, and this problem still stands no matter what I do with camera view...
Maybe this problem with choppy auras is related to V sync somehow, I can't fix V sync on full screen 1920x1080p resolution.
Funny fact is that I played this game a lot on my old PC on max settings without this problem, and it's spec were 10x "weaker" then spec of new PC. Maybe it is related to Radeon video card, earlier I had solid 1GB nvidea and this problem never existed (I was always able to fix V sync in nVidea options before I start game...)
Once again, game is working fine, everything including animations, combat, hero's movement on map, just those damn auras below every unit on map, auras are choppy, not rotating smoothly and that gives me feeling of gameplay laging in general...
If there is anyone with similar experience, please help...

I found solution, it is about RAM memory, I got 8 GB of RAM on my PC. All I have done is restricted my memory to 3GB of RAM. I did that in msconfig, at the Boot tab -> Advanced options -> check Maximum memory and set it to 3072. Apply and restart. That was the only way to make it work for me. PS.
