Hi, do the campaign and map editor supplied with this version work in Win 10? I don't seem to be able to find any .h3c or .h3m files in the installation but I can use maps and run the campaign. I would like to have a go at making my own own maps like I used to years ago.

Yes, but right-clicking to get a help tooltip on what an object is supposed to do doesn't work sadly.
Thank you for that. I dont have a problem opening either the map editor or the campaign editor. What I dont seem to be able to do is open any of the maps or campaigns supplied. The file types seem to have been changed.

By the way there are ways to change the .hlp files to .chm but it is not easy google is your friend.

I have no issues opening .h3m files in the map editor. The formats were never changed.
Thank you, where are the .h3m and .h3c files saved? I can't find them in v4.0 download.

.h3m files are in the Maps subfolder of the game's directory. The official campaigns are incorporated within some other files.
Thank you for your assistance. I have managed to find the .h3m files. I cannot find the .h3c files that are used for the campaigns. The campaign editor asks for .h3c files but as you say these now seem to be hidden. I am sure that many years ago I was able to edit the campaign files but I have probably mis-rememberd.

Campaign files are inside .lod files inside DATA folder. Basically they are in h3bitmap.lod. You can use MMArchive for extracting them from lod archive. Then you can use campaign editor for editing them. Then you can just put *.h3c files in DATA folder and game will you use these new files.
IMO only reason for editing campaigns - enable difficulty before campaign start.
