Hi, I am trying to complete campaign. I am playing as Sorceress and I am in Castle Alamar scenario (great swamp area). I know there is a adventure spell - dimension doors. How can I obtain it? I have maxed out mage guild , have all buildings but there is not a single spell in a book - adventure section (all "normal" spells are present). What am I missing? I actually never used an adventure spell in this campaign / game (there was no need so far) and I thought these spells are automatically added as the mage guild level increased.

Sounds like your hero needs Wisdom.
It was still a skill in HoMM 1, I think.

No.

HoMM1 never had Wisdom.

Even in later games that did have Wisdom, it was never necessary for spells to appear in guilds.

Adventure spells appear in guilds normally, like combat spells. Looks like you were just unlucky.
Not sure how it is in HoMM1, but in 3 Dimension Door is particularly rare, and is in fact disabled on many maps due to its balance-breaking nature.

Spellpower 8, Knowledge 11. But spellpower represents strength/duration of a spell and knowledge ability to memorize the spells (imo).

It could be that this spell is rare but there are no spells in adventure section (not even view mines, resources etc) so i think that this is not the case.

I spent my fair share of time with HoMM2,3 but never played 1. So maybe maybe it's something that only applies to the HoMM 1?

Google is not really helping. Now i am reading a manual and dimension door is on level4 mage guild. Hmm.
I haven't played HoMM1, but for H2 and H3, your hero can only learn a spell if he/she visits a site that teaches it. It's not clear to me from your post what spells your mage guild is offering. What do you see in-game that makes you think your hero should have learned this spell by now?

Well pictures maybe be better.

Simply:
I have level 4 mage guild.
All combat spell are visible in mage guild when visiting town and my hero have all combat spells in spellbook.

I think at level 4 there should be at least basic adventure spells like view mines.

So what are the requirements to obtain any adventure spell? Are adventure spells visible somewhere in town? Or adventure spells can be obtain only in shrines? So far on this map, there were only combat spells.

I don't remember there being a separate section. They're just mixed with combat spells.

Can you test. Try a new map, check guild level 1. Try sevaral times, you should get an adventure map after a few tries.

The spells are random. Each level of spells gives you spells of that level only.

So if you didn't get View Mines at level 1, you are not going to get it later at levels 2, 3 or 4.

Level 1: 3 x level 1 spells
Level 2: 3 x level 2 spells
Level 3: 2 x level 3 spells
Level 4: 2 x level 4 spells

(Also, I think it is possible to disable some spells on a given level. The ones that are usually disabled are Town Portal and Dimension Door).

Thank you for clarification. So it´s just matter of luck or disabled spells. I was really confused because i did not get a single adventure spell in whole campaign (i checked older saves just to be sure).

I did not try standard maps, I just wanted finish campaign. I can assume that "settings" for standard maps / campaign will be different.

Well strategic quest is really no fun. I give up for now and maybe later I will give this game another chance!:-)

That's very odd. I wonder if they're disabled. Or you were just extremely unlucky.

My guess : extremely unlucky , just like in my life!:-D
