I have a Windows 95 version of HoMM1 but it doesn't work with music on my Linux box (played through Wine). I hear GoG version is a DOS one but AFAIK DOS version didn't have Audio CD tracks. How is it in the GoG version of HoMM1?

I may be mistaken, but I think HOMM1 never had CD audio.

Besides, I have a Heroes I-III Polish edition and Sound folder of HoMM1 has 60 MB of music files... A DOS version I found in the internet contains only 11 MB of data.

I have Heroes Compendium and both Heroes 1 and 2 have cd audio. I wish gog would release the Windows versions of those games.
GoG replied to me that their DOS version has town music. :)
