Still shopping for games to run on my netbook. If anyone has tried please let me know how it went. Does the game support 1024x600?
Thanks
I can't remember if this supports 1024x600 or not (I'm pretty sure it does, but it's stretched), but I've run it successfully and smoothly on my EEEPC 900 at 800x600 res, with almost max details. It still looks great even by todays standards.
Thanks for the feedback, I think I'm going to have to give it a go.
it doesn't like the 1024x567 resolution of my netbook i believe. CTD's on startup.
I have an Acer Aspire One netbook with a 1024x600 resolution and it worked fine on mine.

I just tried it today on my ASUS 1001p (2GB RAM, Win7) and it's playable. The only resolution I can choose from is 800x600 24bit mode.
It runs horribly on menu screens for some reason, but actual gameplay seemed a lot better. I haven't gotten into any conflicts yet, but I'm assuming there will be a framerate drop once many ships are on the screen. It's not perfect, but definitely playable.
If you zoom out to the system view (basically a 2D overview of the solar system), the FPS is good and steady. Up close and it lags a bit.
I do not regret my purchase from GOG even though I still have the game on CDs. Runs just fine on my little netbook!
