Everything seems to be running just fine, only there is a semi transparent black bar across the top of the screen. Sort of annoying, I've tried flipping some switches in options but no dice.

My card is an NVIDEA GeForce 9400 GT and I'm running windows vista.

3 Games in the problem went away, no Idea why. So, SOLVED! :)

I have this issue too. It refuses to go away at the moment.

I actually found out what that is - it's (presumably) the game's command console, the place you'd use to enter console commands (cheats, engine parameters, etc.). You can get rid of it by pressing the Tidle key ( the ~ key) on your keyboard until the semi-transparent bar disappears.

oddly enough I am still stuck with this bar and can't get rid of it. the ` key is not doing much for me.
