Hello

So far i find the game controller support very flawed... It alternates between buttons using and mouse emulation mode with one stick.

Problem is, the validating" click" action seems not to work at all, or barely ever. I manage to pick up a location for rift travel on the minimap, sometimes i manage to validate a dialogue answer in NPC speech (but not always) so roughly said, most "action validating" moves are a no go.

then the major difficulty for me: i tried to assign skills to my gamepad buttons that appears as replacement of skill bars but i cant assign anything, i'm stuck with regular normal attack on X and that's it. And no matter what key binding option screens says, the skills i assign to the keyboard 1 2 3 etc keys are not triggered when in gamepad mode with the X Y A B button at all...

I'm using a regular wired X360 controller. All the pad controls from the game works except from validating actions/options (i tried every button, even R / L stick clicking...) so i can move, zoom, auto attack, use potions and the like, but i cant assign any skill. Shall i only use passive skill builds then ?

Thank for help or insight

Without any meaning to be offensive but...

This is a thread to configure the xbox 360 controller. Hope it helps.
well it appears that my same gog installer archive of grimdawn (the day one unpatched version) behaved differently from one computer to another (both on same os win7 pro 64bits)

on one, it would use the right stick click as mouse click equivalent,in the free cursor mode, on the other, it was using triggers to emulate mouse buttons

but on both versions you cant, directly from menu, edit the free cursor mode button emulation behavior.

i'll have a look at the article you linked too

hey there! it may be too late and you've probably finished the game already :D but I'll just tell about how I fixed this controller support thing. I used xbox one (it works for any xbox controller actually) and applied this grim dawn preset. it was ok, although my bindings were a bit different from the one on the pic. good luck, and I hope this helps you out!

Huge thanks to all for the earlier and the latest replies, they all are quite useful in many ways...
Meanwhile i somehow got used to the very strange controller support of the game (and i'd say it's a bit clunky, but at least it's nearly complete anyway)

Strange thing remain that the game behaved differently on two different computers with same version number, at a time (now i only play on one computer, with the latest version)

Also, for the rather quite unhelpful message about the "you have keyboard and mouse already, DUH!" solution, i'd really like to make people aware that there are many various VALID reasons for a PC gamer to want to use a controller for a game on computer; one of them would be "personal choice/preference" (yes, yes, i assure you, someone's different taste IS valid !) and also a second valid reason would be some physical disabilities that makes the use of Keyboard+Mouse either non-practical and/or painful and/or difficult... and i'm pretty sure there are other valid reasons i'm not aware of, myself, too...

And let it be clear, i will be merciless, and will talk back anytime i can whenever i'd see such kind of pointless and irrelevant answer regarding this matter !
