Ran into an issue after completing the Mycellian Remnants quest where talking to the Mystic only opened the store menu and wouldn't progress the story, leaving the purple barriers up. I got into the next city by traveling to the location marked Verezyphiir (an underground cavern with a tall bridge) and drowning myself, causing me to respawn in the next town. =\

Cheers!! I had the same problem as you, and this workaround works! But don't drown in electrocuted water!! You'll keep on dying and dying and dying each time you revive....
