My problem is based on the fact that I played and beated Gothic 1 and was in the beginning of 2 and when I was away for several months then wanted to play gothic 2 I got a error that says.

"An older instance of this script is already running. Replace it with this instance?
Note: To avoid this message, see #SingleInstance in the help file."

Any helpful hint would be good, and rep bonus to people that may help solve this problem.

You can only run one instance of the games at any given time. The error message tells you already running one.

Try to open the Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del, or Ctrl+Shift+Esc on Win7), and go to the "Processes" tab. Here search for any kind of Gothic then end it. Now you can try to use it again, maybe with more luck.

Well I did that and also uninstalled and reinstalled the game and I run it without running any other programs running. So Thanks.
