It's being made by some Spanish studio, not the Piranha Bytes. Shame.

Still, better than nothing, I guess.

Also, it's not technically a remaster (the same game with newer graphics etc.). They've changed pretty much every aspect of the game. It's not Gothic 1.

Looks like steam got a playable teaser, but i can not see anything here on gog. Has somone info on it?

One Steam, there are no barriers to release a game, so you can just "release" almost anything. On GOG, it has go through a verifcation process, which takes longer.
From what I understands, its basically THQNordic, who ones Piranha Bytes and the Gothic brand, trying to figure out if there is enoug interest in a Remake (the teaser is not just a remaster, they changed the entire opening sequence, combat system and more. Its probably best comapred to Final Fantasy 7 vs its Remake, which changes a lot (or "reimagines" as the marketing calls it)

Sadly, the demo is only on steam.

For some reason you have to own a copy of one of the Piranha Bytes titles on steam before you can access the demo. This seems foolish to me as Gothic predates steam so some of the people they want feedback from can't access because they have the disc version or the GOG version.
