So,I got to Chapter Four. Spoke to Xardas,spoke to Ur-Shak,and I'm at the Not-So-Free Mine. After securing a beach head after ten tries (All luck-based,man!),and I proceed deeper into the mine,Gorn,out of the clear blue,starts attacking me. Now,this is an issue. He uses one of the most powerful axes in the game. He has "Master" level two-hander skill. He probably has 100 strength,at least. And he's immortal. I can't just beat him over the head and ditch him. However,I can't safely proceed,because Gorn might,at random,decide it's time to hack me to pieces,just as a Guard's trying to snipe me. Any way to fix this?

Yeah, I've had that happen. You probably hit him accidentally while you were fighting the mine guards. I think your options are to reload or to run away from him and avoid him while you finish what you have to do in the mine.

Actually,I've taken pains to NOT hit him. I let him deal with whatever he goes for,so I focus on enemies in the opposite direction. IF I'm forced to attack the same target as him,I go in with my axe,which I liberated from Okyl's corpse.

Once he had turned hostile, I found no solution but to reload. After that I avoided Gorn as much as possible. I just stayed the heck away from him until the mine was finished.

Maybe someone else knows a way to fix the problem. It would be nice.

You might save into a free slot, zip the savegame, and upload/attach it.

No actual solution to the problem. Only a work-around. From what I've gathered,it's an AI glitch. The Free Mine is a restricted area for the Mercenaries,and Gorn's a Mercenary. As such,he's effectively on a timer while you're in his LoS before he starts kicking your ass with his axe. The only rock-solid workaround that I know of is to tell him to hold the entrance. This might be suicide for some players,though.
