I ordered Gothic 3, since it is listed separately from Gothic 3 Enhanced Edition. I'd read more than enough to understand that the original is superior to the Enhanced Edition (which comes with what was apparently a colossally poor expansion).
My "My Games" section shows the correct game -- Gothic 3, the original.
I downloaded it and installed it. I launched the game... and it comes up as "Gothic 3 Enhanced Edition".
Just contacted them to tell them about this little and quite unwanted mistake on their part and that I'd like the original game as ordered.
Right now, if this problem is universal, if you order EITHER version of Gothic 3, you get the Enhanced Edition. And that's NOT a good thing.
I hope they get back to me with a correct download. This is my first problem with GOG.com and hopefully they're quick about resolving this sort of thing. I do NOT want and did not order the version they gave me... not happy here.

Aren't you confusing Enhanced Edition with Forsaken Gods?

- Enhanced Edition is mandatory if you want to play Gothic 3 in a bug-free environment, that is why the game comes with the patch pre-installed (patch version 1.74).
- Forsaken Gods if a god awful thing created by some indian studio, and has nothing to do with Piranha Bytes, the original game developer. And even FG has an enhanced edition, made by the same team that worked on G3 Enh. Edition.

Were I correct, I wouldn't complain if I were you.
I don't think they messed up installers.

You might be right. I got confused because the words "enhanced edition" is nowhere in the original game's description, but the words ARE used in the Forsaken Gods version. The original is "Gothic 3"; the other is "Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition". I wanted Gothic 3, and when the title screen came up as "enhanced edition", my mind went straight to the only place i'd seen the words "enhanced edition" -- which was the very version I did not want.

Thank you. I'd rather it be my misunderstanding.

No worries.
If you had in mind Gothic 3 when you ordered, then you are more than OK with it, if you got Forsaken Gods by mistake you can ask for a refund, since GOG has a 30 days refund policy.

And... you are right about that Forsaken Gods... I love the irony of this title.. the game's so shitty, they felt (not GOG) if they won't put Enh. Edition in the title, it might not sell at all!

Glad I could help.

Even enhanced or original version, the Gothic 3 is piece of crap in case of technical quality. Buggy as hell. Very badly hw optimised, etc. ...

Play Gothic III then go back a year later and play Gothic II and you might change your tune. I did and I forgot how buggy II was! They're equally buggy even fully patched.
