Is there any way to modify the stealing limit in Gothic 3? (ie: steal too much and the city guard catches on)

I've played the game a million times and kind of hate limiting my greed, so I was wondering if there is a way to be a total weasel and just steal literally every single item.

Don't quote me on this, but I think if you can steal everything before you get accused by a guard for the first time, you might be able to get away with it.

I've heard of that exploit! The problem is that it would mean a dedicated thieving session, which, although possible, would end up being really irritating for me because of time constraints.

That, and pickpocketing gives XP.
Another working exploit (I hope that I remember it right):
1. Steal what ever you want.
2. Get accused, yes you read right, just get accused!
3. Start to insult the guy that is accusing you (dont choose any other option).
4. Run away, until he stops to follow you.
5. Get back and everything is ok again :P.
That guard u ran away from will attack you again if he sees you. He remembers a face well. There's once I lured him out to a place where no one is around after arggo, don't ever get hit by him else everyone joins in as well. When no one is nearby and is looking, hammer that guard and knock him out. Once he gets up, he's neutral again and you can proceed to do what you want.
Ah, true,t hat is the point I missed.
