Hi,

I cannot manage to start Gothic 2 Gold Edition (NoTR)

My steps so far:
1. Disable DEP for gothic2.exe

Gothic2.exe won't start just sitting in the task manager. It seems that it is dead locking and waiting for viber.exe !!! So I kill viber.exe (I don't know why viber is needed for Gothic2....)

2. After The viber dies the Gothic2 is start for the first time and start building the virtual fie system. But that build finished with error and I cannot go further.

The error message:
"C:maximum texture size is lower than 32. possible reasons: wrong gfx driver setup (install other driver), bad os state (try to reboot), or insufficient gfx hardware (buy better gfx card)"

My setup:

AMD Ryzen 3700X, 16GB RAM, Nvidia RTX2070 gfx card. Windows 10 lates version (1909) fully patched.

Any clue how I can manage to start this?

Best Regards

This worked for me. But no videos were playing. To get the videos to play, disable video scaling editing the Gothic.ini file from your game folder, and change scaleVideo=1 to scaleVideo=0.
I remember this worked perfectly years ago on the same Windows 7.
