Well what can I say ,the game was amazing and brilliant
Once I got use to the interface I was practically addicted . I loved the difficulty of the game ,I have never run from so many monsters in my life ..lol
I remember the absolute thrill when I finally was able to use magic. I am big fan of open ,immersive RPG's where you can go where you want to and explore at your peril .So this game exceeded my expectations in this respect .
And the best thing about Gothic 1 ,I still have Gothic 2 and 3 to play now :)

got a question, does gog Gothic 1 work with Win 7 without a problem?

When I tried to play Gothic 1 installed from CDs it would work correctly, the graphics were messed up.

I recently bought steam Gothic 1 and it freakin works 100%.

The only problem I had with it is that sometimes the game wouldn't boot up if you had a browser open. Don't ask me why. Otherwise it was fine.

One point, though. If you are planning on using a non-standard resolution via editing the .ini, install it in a directory other than Program Files. Otherwise your .ini edit will get reset the next time you fire it up.

Hmm thx for the info, for now I have the steam version, haven't tried changing resolution there yet! :) a bit busy playing Lotr2 and Nox that I bought here few days ago but thx will keep it in mind.
