I have received Cord's quest to help his friend Patrick and have trained with him, but I have found that when I try to talk to him now I only get the reply "I don't talk to filthy thugs" with no option to interact with him beyond that.

I am on good terms with the mercenaries (but an not affiliated with any guild). I do not have any penalty owed to Lee, nor does anyone else in the mercenary camp have a problem with me. When I talk to Torlof about my status, he notes that Cord has a high opinion with me. Finally, I have verified that I can join the mercenaries if I so desire by finalizing Torlof's task and talking to Lee.

Any way to repair Cord's attitude of should I just write off his quest and him being a source of training?
