high rated
I would like to start a discussion about a rather valuable and very rare item within the 'hardcore' Gothic community: Gothic - Der Comic. The comic was only ever published in German unfortunately: first time a few months before the release of the actual game, and a second time PC Games released 'the legendary' comic again in 2006.
The comic talks about the background story of the hero's four friends (Diego, Gorn, Lares, Milten), and how they got to be arrested and thrown inside the Colony. Not only that, but it also explains the conflicts between some of the characters (these are only hinted at during the game) and it even explains some aspects of the physical world (i.e. the game map) and the way they came to be the way they are. You can see why it's of interest to Gothic fans. ;)
I fortunately was able to get hold of a copy of the comic from PC Games (albeit, digital) and I even translated it into English, but would it not be cool if this was added to GOG as a bonus?
Some links:
• Ideenschmiede Paul & Paul — Creators and copyright holders of the comic
• Text-only fan translation — Available are German (original), English and Romanian
P.S.: I imagine it's probably not worth GOG's time to get the rights from Paul & Paul, but I'd like to spread the word and start a discussion. :) On the other hand, if GOG offered the comic, I'm pretty sure a big portion of WorldOfGothic.de would start flowing in.
