Having a single place to see all my games is really great. And the interface is overall pretty good. The fact that it knows about even indie games not on any platform is even better. No need to fiddle for a long time setting up custom art and metadate.

Except for one problem. Sorting by genre is like rolling the dice. The database is full of strange miscategorizations. I try to sort by strategy and I see Paladins, a shooter, next to Starcraft and Into the Breach, which is apparantly a roleplaying game. Watch Dogs is apparantly a racing game, and "Adventure" is such a meaningless term by now that you seem to have just reached into the hat and picked some games at random to apply the label to.

Sorting by genre like this is not useful. I guess asking for such a massive database of games to be adjusted is a lot. But at the very least let me override and fix the genres for myself.

Adventure
RPG
Racing
Indie
Simulation

These genres have very specific connotations, just having elements of them does not make a game part of it. the Indie category has big budget games which, while independently made, do not fit the small budget, experimental connotation of "Indie" as opposed to "independent". Being able to drive a car in Watch Dogs does not make it a racing game, and being able to upgrade your weapon does not make it an RPG. The genre would be open world but there is no such category. Most games should not fit into more than one genre either.

It's easy to disagree on what genre(s) some games fit into, but a lot of this is obvious stuff with obvious connotations. So, at the very least let me change them for myself.
igdb.com

This is apparently where GOG gets the genres and box art so this is where it would need to be changed. Trying to figure out how now as several puzzle games are under adventure
I agree and I wonder where they took some of this tags.... For example...

Fallout 4 New Vegas: rpg, shooter, sport

GOG website tags are different, I went to the original launcher (Steam) and tags are different too, tried looking at igdb.com (someone wrote that GOG looks here for tags) but they are ok...

Don't get me wrong, it's very useful to have all my 745 games in a single place so I can avoid buying multiple copies and play some forgotten title but the genres filter is messed up.

Another example is Rollercoaster, on GOG website is "Simulation - Building - Managerial", on GOG Galaxy is "Strategy, Simulator".... tags are different even there... and "building" or "managerial" are not in the filter list...
