I don't understand what was wrong with the original client.

Everything is way harder to navigate now.
The store is harder to access.
Options for your games (seeing your DLCs, etc) is way more obfuscated...

I just don't understand who thought this was a good idea.

Going to 2.0 should have just included the steam integration etc.

This new interface is not "sleek" and "modern".
It's frustrating when things are taken away from you and hidden away.

Have a look at Steam and see how everything is organized. Most important features:
STORE and LIBRARY

STORE >> I want an easy way to search for games, put the search bar big and visible like it used to be, not some hidden away hourglass icon.

LIBRARY >> Have my games neatly listed down the side.
When I click on a game, I want to see all of the important options up front. I don't want my "activity" taking up more than 50% of the page. I don't care about when I got X achievement. I don't care about friend leaderboard. Show me what DLC I have, show me news for the game, etc.

Seriously GOG, big downgrade.
Agreed. Deinstalled and will never use it again. If GoG desides to stop providing offline installer for games, i will stop buying games from them.

Edit: But come on, Steams new interface is terrible as well. GoG tries really hard to copy Steams crappy client.

The store is one click away on the side panel.
Also, Side panel > store/all offers > big search bar is there.

Bookmarking a game puts it in the side panel. I prefer that there's not 100s of games in the side panel by default, but you can put them there if you'd like.

gog at least has offline installers so you can ignore the client and let it be a flashy toy for kids. steam on the other hand ties your games to steam client and you have no way to run it if steam's servers are down like it was today. that garbage of a launcher even can't switch to offline mode if there's no network, it literally paywalls your games including installed ones.

You are right. If you buy your games on GOG you actually own them. As i said, if GOG stops providing offline installer for the games i will stop to buy them here.

me too. I use gog for DRM free games and I use offline installers. If there will be no offline installers there's no reason to use this store. I hope gog will keep offline installers as the base of their operation.

I just don't understand who thought this was a good idea.
And then you proceed to provide a laundry list of stuff that doesn't support your premise of "I don't understand." Which is it? Do you understand why a feature exists or does not exist, or are you completely clueless?
