It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Thanks for the great store and great games! :D

I can't even get Galaxy to Update properly, ever.
Why can't I easily, actually see what my current Galaxy version is?
It always tells me a problem happened at around 3% but it never
tells me the problem or how to possibly fix it, other than downloading an installer.

The mousing over Icons on the GOG Galaxy UI don't seem to work, ever.
so I've got no idea how any of it works.

So basically I never use Galaxy and they keep popping up, Rate It !
To help us server you better but there's nothing there for them to know anything.
So I never rate it because I don't want to give it a bad rating.

I figure, I'll come back in a couple months, now it's been years.

I seem to be downloading a Generic Web Installer which won't update or tell me,
current version either.

WTF?

Click the cogwheel in the top left and choose Settings. The version number is in the bottom left corner of the window.

Outside of GOG Galaxy, you can open the installation folder -- usually C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy -- right-click GalaxyClientService.exe and choose Properties. On the Details tab, look at File Version/Product Version.

Since you haven't used GOG Galaxy much, I suggest a clean install to hopefully resolve whatever issues you're having:
1. In the File Explorer address bar, paste %AllUsersProfile%\GOG.com\Galaxy -- move this folder to the desktop.
2. Do the same with %LocalAppData%\GOG.com\Galaxy
3. Uninstall GOG Galaxy from the Windows Control Panel.
4. Get the latest full installer (second link is for Windows).

GOG Galaxy automatically checks for updates. You can also click the cogwheel in the top left and choose Check for Updates to do this manually. Additionally, you can click the cogwheel and choose Settings. In the General category, you can check Experimental Features and Updates.

If the problems persist, open a support ticket.
Thanks for your help Ice Mage! :D

I'll give reinstall a try. Part of the problem I was trying to wait for it to get stabilized and working before letting it add my games.
I didn't want to take a chance of it breaking my games, one of which was Cyberpunk 2077 was heavily modded.
Also, it could just be confused (heh) I've got Cyberpunk on ssd game drive and other GOG games on hdd game drive.
Then Galaxy in a 3rd folder, on the hdd game drive, because most GOG at least I own atm don't need ssd.

Still Galaxy should be able to install and function normally without any games added, but hopefully a reinstall will help.

GOG Galaxy shouldn't affect your game installations, unless you explicitly choose to install/uninstall/verify-repair/remove DLC for a particular game.

If already installed games aren't recognized as such, you can click the cogwheel, choose Add Games & Friends, then Scan Folders for GOG Games.

One thing to note is that installing a game via GOG Galaxy creates shortcuts that point to GOG Galaxy. If you want to start a game without it, you can directly launch the executable from the game installation folder. The shortcut you find there should also point to the game directly.

You're welcome. I hope it works out.
Uninstalled and Reinstalled, seems to be working good and most current version, Yay!

It looks like I can add HDD GOG games without issue.
There's no way I'm trying to Add my SSD games like CyberPunk 2077 until I know they won't be touched.

I tried Dragging and Dropping, a game to Galaxy Games folder, then restarted it.
Galaxy didn't recognize it was present, until I directed it to the game folder.

No offense but most importantly, How Do I Make Sure, the game NEVER Updates without my Permission?
Most of my games are HEAVILY modified and I don't want to lose them or the hours to repair.
I looked on the Installed and Owned Game windows but nothing seems to say "Don't Update or Touch" my game installs.

Thanks

Augmenti: How Do I Make Sure, the game NEVER Updates without my Permission?
Individually:
1. Click the "More" button to the right of the Play button or right-click the game in the Installed category.
2. Choose Manage Installation, then Configure.
3. Uncheck "Automatically update to newest version".

Globally:
1. Click the cogwheel in the top left and choose Settings.
2. Choose Game Features on the left.
3. Uncheck "Auto-update games" on the right.
