excuse me, but when will the auto-update feature be fixed?

every time i try to update gog galaxy i get the error something is missing or another. then attempting to re-launch says it is already running when it's not. then deleting the lockfile doesn't fix anything, i don't get an error but the client never loads.

only solution is to uninstall and re-install. then i have to go through so some trouble after a FRESH installation ( fresh that i deleted leftovers manually from the registry and drive. i have first tried simply re-installing.) to delete the lockfile. and then more trouble to prevent auto-updates to the client.

would someone share how to fix this?

I been having similar issues since 2.0.42. It seems to be a problem with the communication service because It wont update to the newest version while using auto update

Possible fix, dunno.

I don't feel like dealing with their shoddy bi annual updates, so I reverted.

If you'd like to revert to a previous version and prevent updates:

Download offline installer:
https://cdn.gog.com/open/galaxy/client/2.0.37.384/setup_galaxy_2.0.37.384.exe

Install, but don't launch

1) Delete C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\redists\GalaxyUpdater.exe

2) Add "/runWithoutUpdating" to the Galaxy shortcut

- Right click short cut, properties, "Target" box
- append a space and "/runWithoutUpdating" at the end (without quotation marks)

3) Disable Galaxy autostart in settings
yeah. that is pretty much exactly what i have done to stop updates. might have to try some manual update solution.
any word on this from GoG themselves?

i really don't want to experiment anymore, and am getting tired of re-logging all the account connections.

anything? anyone?
So this older Galaxy version works better for everyone?
Guess I'll have to try this.
:\
My Galaxy install refused to go into online mode this morning. I've already had to jump through hoops to get the broken cloud sync disabled. If online functionality is still broken this evening, I'm going to try the method mentioned above. In this day and age, update=more issues.
Just wanted to report that, whatever the problem was is gone and now everything works again for me.
I guess I have to thank support because the old galaxy metod didn't work for me.
Not sure how to see the fate for my support ticket tho, because I can't find it anywhere.
The issue is still ongoing for me. I submitted a support ticket last night, but haven't received an automated reply yet. There are now issues with the forums as well. Avatars are missing, replaced with question marks. I'm guessing I'll have to wait until Monday for a response.

I wouldn't mind so much if Galaxy weren't required to enable all features of No Man's Sky.....

EDIT: The forum issue is caused by no connection to images.gog.com.

it isn't that an older version is working better. it is that the update process is broken and breaks the installation.
