It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

To facilitate keeping backups up to date I propose a Scan & Update feature, similar to Scan & Import for games.

Here's how I see it working:

- Scan & Update scans the selected backup storage location or a sub folder if you just want to check a specific game
- After completing the scan it shows you all a list of all missing or outdated backup installers and extras which you can select or de-select for updating
- All missing/updated items should be pre-selected in the list
- selecting or de-selecting should be possible both on an individual file and per-game basis
- "Download selected" then starts the process of downloading the selected missing/updated items
- There should also be a toggle for deleting or keeping older file versions

What are your thoughts and suggestions on this?

This would be great. Basically something like gogrepo.py with a proper UI.

Would be a very nice addition, and would also cater to gogs "yours to keep" stance.

Ideas from the top of my head:

- Support for multiple backup paths (some people may have not enough space on one drive for their whole collection)
- Bookmark in the store section on the sidebar, that leads to a page with the functionality you described
- Selectable option: Percentage of used space is shown like the number of games is shown after some bookmarks in the games section
- Smart "install" button on the games page, that detects whether an up to date local installer for a game exists and if so, it chooses that in favor of downloading it from gogs server. If not (and the local backup storage option is activated by the user) it will update the local installer and then automatically starts the updated local installer.
- may not be useful: an additional filter for (gog) games - local backup ready
- in the long run: support for other game shops that also have drm-free installers available to download directly (like HumbleBundle)

Definitely a good and reasonable request! Despite using Galaxy Installations i still would love to have that feature
