As the title says. Certain games like Quake need Command Line Arguments in order to use all their settings and features.

I've gotten the beta invite for Galaxy 2.0 months ago, but haven't activated and downloaded it because 2.0 is missing the Command Line Arguments feature that was in the pre-2.0 Galaxy builds, and that's a deal breaker for me. Please add Command Line Arguments to Galaxy 2.0
It will be added back in. It's already mentioned in the changelog for 2.0.1 as one of the still missing features from Galaxy 1.2, several of which have been added back in since.

I hope so. I'm starting to get the feeling gog bit off more than they could chew with this new version of Galaxy.

I get the exact opposite impression. They started off with the main selling point of 2.0: unifying platforms. With every new version since then they have removed bugs, added requested features (like mouse navigation which 1.2 never had), promised features (like closing clients after exiting the game) and missing features from 1.2 (like download of backup installers and extras).

It's not feature complete but for a work in progress it's remarkably stable and usable and there is clear progress with every update.

Not JUST command line arguments, but also change which EXE is getting launched.

Should be able to install a source port in the folder of a game, and tell Galaxy to launch that EXE instead of the default one, as well as provide command line arguments to whichever EXE is being launched.
I've been straight up impressed by how much they've been able to do and far better then everyone else. I know they say gog galaxy 2.0 is still in beta, but even from day one I was struck by how finished it felt in comparison to most of the other competing clients out there, particularly Valve's which frankly, I'm not sure should *be* to the closed beta stage at this point, much less to the public rrelease as a "final build" they gave it.

That's even before you get into the open secret that the "closed beta" for Galaxy 2.0 isn't really closed., and they've often anticipated a lot of these very requests people are making. I haven't heard of anyone yet not getting an invite when requesting, and while command line arrguments don't appear to be supported in client yet, I do know it's still working for a number of games without it. Steam, ubisoft, Epic and Origin for example, break or at least heavily restrict that functionality period for many games in their current builds.

This is badly needed too. I tried every way of doing this with Earth 2140's DOS version in old Galaxy as the Windows version has broken AI but is the only one old Galaxy would recognize. No luck. I was able to do it with Rune Gold by replacing files and editing exe names however. A big pain though.

Hi,
at least the last is already possible. You can add a game twice, but only via the button to add games (middle top), not through the search. Type the name in and mark it as owned a second time. In the game page you can then link an .exe file and select the game version to be launched by default. (see attachment)

Best regards!

Thanks for the reply, i actually hadn't thought of that.

It's a good workaround, but i still think they should add the option.

Agreed! I can imagine numerous use cases for it. The option to add a second exe should not be removed in the future. It is currently used for other options as well: e.g. launch non-steam games through steam to be able to use steam big picture overlay (e.g. for remote play via link) for steam controllers and other controllers.

An entire year and it appears this still hasn't been added. Has Galaxy 2.0 been abandoned then?
