It should be made clear what data is being collected and how it will be collected, stored, handled, retained, and distributed or sold. Consumers should be informed what form the data will take at any point in its lifecycle - raw, anonymized, aggregated, or to populate high-level reports.

If you were an EU citizen you could demand to get a copy of all data currently stored about you in human readable form (would probably be JSON). Since you're not EU you still asked, but they have no legal obligation to give it to you. But maybe if you ask really nicely: privacy@gog.com

I read that, and it is helpful, but doesn't provide any information about further disposition of the data. Usually these kind of documents will explicitly state that your data will not be shared or sold if that is the case. There is no way this is the endgame. The kind of industry insights this cross-platform data can provide could be very valuable, and I can't think of another single entity better placed to collect it all right now than GOG.

It might be hard to believe for Americans, but European data protection laws are actually really strict (GDPR). And not conforming to them can lead to really hefty fines (up to 20 million € or 4% of the annual global turnover (not profit!) - whichever is higher(!)).

So, only thing they could do with all that data is running de-personalized analyses on it for third parties. They simple can't sell YOUR data to anyone else.

Im against collecting market statistics in general but have to accept the fact that I cant change it. Wether or not they deal in our personal information in otherr countries is still a concern. They can easily just not collect certain data from certain countries where its illegal to do so, but then that deoends entirely on your local government actively investing in creating implimenting AND enforcing such laws, and I dont trust mine to do so.

I am willing to let it pass just out of faith in Gog, but they should specify these details, because others aren't convinced they have good intentions yet. Gog, dont take your Attourneys advice on this, and specify these things, right there in y9ur legally binding terms of service, where the entire world can see you commit to clarifying for your consumers benefit.
