It's really frustrating for me reading people complaining about this stuff because I thought all gamers secretly hated tutorials as much as I do. I mean when an FPS tells me to shoot with RMB I want to scream at someone, I have been doing this shit for 20 years and I know how to play videogames. If there is anything in particular I need help with I know the reference material is there for me.

Wasn't Portal like 90% tutorial? It was just a really good one so no one cared. Good tutorials are fine, the longer they take to complete the better they need to be to not become bothersome, though.

Even some good games like Red Dead Redemption has the most horrible tip and tutorial system. Luckily, through no prompting in the game, I figured out where to dig up the old lines of text they'd thrown up for all of 3 seconds during an action sequence. And it's not like the manual had crap all for info in it.

Dude, grenade goes on MMB, what are you smoking? Melee goes on RMB Left 4 Dead style.

I have a 6 button mouse but I don't use the side buttons... just not used to it and never hit the right button when I try.

Hey, me too! Well, a 5 button mouse anyway. I do map buttons 4 and 5 occasionally, but not to anything I need to use in a hurry. Right mouse button is always aim / alt fire / use (in games without aim or alt fire), and middle button is reload.

For these new games with aiming down the sight buttons I try to use F for it, but sometimes they force you to hold it and F sucks for that so I end up having to use RMB for it.

Oh PC gamers and our weird setups.
