Hi Folks,

hope someone already got some experience with a configuration like that.
I'm planning to pick up a new Samsung Ultrabook with a Intel Core i5-3337U Dual Core Processor including a HD4000.
I wonder if i can play games like Wing Commander 4 (in SVGA), Quake II or other old 3D-SVGA Shooters at acceptable Framerates with this CPU.
And... does anyone know if the HD 4000 is fast enough for the nglide wrapper ?

Thanks in advance

Cir

I have a kind of Ultranotebook, a crippled low-voltage i3 with the old Intel HD graphics (before HD3000), which means a weaker processor and gpu than your posted system. DosBox and nglide are no problem, also most older games. Biggest problem with the old Intel HD graphics is opengl, but as far as I know things are getting better with HD4000, which unfortunately not mean great at all.

In short: Most old games should work without problems. For newer games which look not resource-hungry (Minecraft, Eschalon) you can get in trouble thanks to the gpu.

Edit: This will maybe help you to get a better impression of your cpu/gpu (page is in german):
