may I present to you ladies and gents, one of Brazil's best albums of all time.it's filled to the brink with memorable music from my country best songwriters and performers.this album basically started the Tropicalia moviment here in Brazil.I hope you'll all enjoy
The first minute or so made me want to stab my eardrums, so I stopped listening.
Does it get acceptable after that?
but the album(even the one I have)have high volume.but really try listening to it and try to get the lyrics.

Out of these the only ones I've heard was Panis et Circensis and Bat Makumba, and those are great, but I never liked Caetano Veloso or Gilberto Gil very much, apart from a small number of songs.

I always much preferred Vinícius de Moraes and Chico Buarque, and their poetry style.
I.. well when you can get past that bicycle ring stuff.. it gets better but that was second then it is so weirdly stuff.. I guess that's that kind of music that you hate and not really ever love even if you listen it many times.. Still, i've heard.. not many but it is interesting to say the least. =P

hmm.. a bit weird that is my conclusion
Thanks for sharing. I can't see it catching on over here....but then again, with Brazil hosting the next World Cup and then Olympics, I may be wrong.

OT: Damn, I'm looking forward to the World Cup next year. I'm guessing it'll be one huge festival in the streets of Brazil.

It's going to be awful. During the Confederations Cup in June classes in college were suspended whenever Brazil was playing. With the World Cup they'll probably do it for every single game or something, the country will stop. I find the whole thing shameful, I'm just glad I won't be here to see it.

As for the music, to kind of put it into context, this is pretty much hippies 60's music, hence the experimental (bicycle bell, etc.) stuff which isn't for everyone. Straight up Bossa Nova or regular Samba would probably be more agreeable to most people, I know it is for me.
Hmm, sort of reminds me of Os Mutantes.
