Export: I'm not sure where you're getting 5+ million sales for Origins from, either. About a year ago it had sold 3.2 million worldwide (according to EA themselves).
3.2 million physical copies. Digital downloads are not counted. That's where the more than 5 million figure comes from.
our last hope on the perfect rpg remains on either diablo 3 or torchlight 2

That's no hope at all.
Diablo is a bad RPG - too action orientated, character development tacked on as an afterthought, if at any thought was involved.
And Torchlight is just a Diablo clone, albeit created by pretty much the same team as Diablo.
hahah @ calm down dear.. priceless

Export: Oh hey, misinformed fanboy!

First of all, even putting pre-orders aside (and much of the pre-launch backlash was people saying they've cancelled their pre-orders, by the way), it still sold more in its first week than Origins, even on PC. Earlier in May, it did indeed hit 2 million sales. So just because we're talking about a fantasy RPG, doesn't mean you can live in your own little fantasy world while we discuss real things.
Regarding the "happened exclusively online", neither you or anyone has any way to verify that, so, bullshit, plain and simple.

Regarding the "it was only PC gamers", anyone who spends some time reading boards will quickly realize that's bullshit, console players disliked it as much as PC gamers did.

EA Q4 reports mentions 2M SOLD IN, NOT SOLD THROUGH, MEANING 2M UNITS SHIPPED, NOT SOLD.

Yes, it sold more in its frst week than Origins because PO's count as first week, and i think already covered that one, the bulk of PO's was due to DAO's sucess.

You can keep the fanboy bullshit and the juvenile antics for the BSN kindergarden, this ain't it.

Somewhat on the DA subject. I don't think there has ever been a Bioware game that went on promo as fast as Dragon Age 2 with the "please buy DA2. We'll give you ME2!!! Pretty please?".

That alone should tell you enough about how good the sales were.

Besides that site linked from the Escapist puts DA2 at 1.3mil at week 9 for all platforms, quite a way from the 2 mil. Even with counting digital sales for the PC I somewhat doubt it reached 2 mil. While DA:Origins passed the 1.3 mil mark on the same week 9, but for Xbox sales only. And that game was considered a bad port for consoles.

thekingcasper: Please take all the kind words you get from the PC community and never forget us! keep the Witcher a PC exclusive game and bring out many more in the future.
An attempt to be outspoken with a stupid agenda masked with a thanks...that they are in line with said agenda.

You're quite obviously incapable of reasoning and deduction and therefore any time spent attempting to communicate with you is wasted. Enjoy your delusions, sir.

Supported? Companies actually support real RPGs these days? I thought they died with NWN and Baldur's, and Eye of the Beholder..... :(

I suppose you could just squeeze World of Warcrack and Run Escape in....barely. In bad light.
As boring as it is, Oblivion would still be a better choice for real RPG than Diablo or Diablo clone.
Or Oblivion-with-guns, Fallout3!

ewwwwww
Can't believe I just said that :\

No, it remains in getting damn good writers who know how to craft a story with damn good developers who can channel that story with the thought of everything that makes up user interaction.
Well, The Witcher 2 isn't going to be a PC exclusive, so the whole thread is moot. Originally it was planned for simultaneous PC and console release, but for undisclosed reasons the console release was pushed back.
Oh, it's 'sir' now is it ? Well that's a shame, i rather enjoyed the 'misinformed fanboy' from your other reply.

Export: As I said in my last post, even putting pre-orders aside, it outsold DAO week by week.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Talk about delusions, hey ?
