For me there's nothing better than the good old Civilization 1. :-)

Ulfhedjinn: Got my vote!!
Crysis and Crysis Warhead are advertised on Steam now, so you never know.
avatar
lukaszthegreat: they are not EA's game though.
EA will try to push their digital distribution system which sux big time. no love for gog or steam.

EA is the publisher for both games, it's the publisher who deals with Valve in regards to Steam.
That said, jecrell made a good point: There's no way EA would publish a game on a DRM-free service anymore.

Because Crysis and Crysis: Warhead are published as part of the EA Partners program (the same way The Orange Box is) Crytek has more control over their game then usual. EA has nothing to do with Steam versions of Crysis and Crysis: Warhead - it's all between Valve and Crytek.

Is that your way of saying that EA games are probably not finding their way here? Because I would love to see Alpha Centauri and the Crusader games here...
For anyone who still owns SMAC and X-Fire and can't get it to work on XP, then try the following links.
SMAC v4 Patch
http://apolyton.net/go.php?http://www.firaxis.com/downloads/Patch/Smacp4e.exe
SMAC-X v2 Patch (use if you own the expansion)
http://apolyton.net/go.php?http://www.firaxis.com/downloads/Patch/Smacxpv2.exe
XP Compatibility patch
http://apolyton.net/go.php?http://www.firaxis.com/downloads/Patch/SMAC_Win2000_XP_Compatibility_Update_v1.03f.exe
Install the game (and expansion) as usual and apply the relevant patches. If you get a message about your CPU not being supported... just ignore it or get rid of it in the games .ini file by changing the following value "ForceOldVoxelAlgorithm" from 0 to 1.
If things still don't work how you want, just check out the message board at the site where the files are stored (Apolyton.net), you'll find your questions already answered there.

Nope, that's not what I meant. :)
I don't know what future will bring, but rest asured that we all would love to see games from EA on GOG.com... games such as Dungeon Keeper, Command & Conquer, SimCity, System Shock or Wing Commander to name a few. All we can do is wait and hope for the best. :)
Alpha Centauri can work fine on XP, but without the sound (which is not all that important anyway in the game).
Still, I'd love to see that game, as well as many others owned by EA on GOG.
Here's to hoping they see sense and outsource the direct download business of selling their games, at least on the old titles that they don't seem to be interested in selling anyway.

Well, it's great to hear that from you. I for once do hope that you guys manage to get all of them... I know I'll buy (well, re-buy) most of them if they ever appear around here. ;-)

They have. On the Playstation Store. You can easily copy files on to another persons Memory Stick so that they can play the game you have bought.

DreamTwister: Think of the possibilities!... Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
It's sad that in it's current state its such a pain to get this game to work on Vista or XP. Fan of the Civilization series would flip if this game was ever re-released by GOG. If there are any fans out there show your support!

It would be great !
Do you think about some translation ? Fr, De etc ?
People really have problems getting this to run on Vista?
I have both Alpha Centauri and Alien Crossfire and both run fine on my Vista 64 system.
