One of my all time favorite games used to be Stronghold by Stormfront Studios and SSI. It was based on Advanced Dungeons and Dragons and was called a "Kingdom Simulator". I have NO SKILLS whatsoever when it comes to the programming everyone does to update these games to todays standards.... but I was hoping somebody with the needed skill would see this post and help us all out by reviving this awesome game!

Isn't Stronghold Kingdoms kind of like what you are asking for?

Not really, this game is all about monsters and controlling elves,thieves, mages, etc... it is really fun. i have the old copy for DOS but obviously no computer for it. :( thanks for the suggestion though

Unless you are lacking a floppy drive, and the game is on floppies, then it should not be too hard to get it to run. Just download dosbox (it is what GOG uses to get old DOS games to work on modern computers) and you should be fine.

If you need some help with dosbox, then give us a shout, I'm sure someone here will be able to help you.

thanks for the help. stronghold is running but it seems soundless... I cannot quite figure out how to get it to give me sound. it wants Soundblaster but that tech is dead is it not? haha

Edit DOSbox's configuration. There is an option to set the kind of soundcard to be emulated.

Attached is a dosbox config file - change the extension.
