15,504 ways to play!

Decisions, decisions, decisions. Once the holiday season gets closer, you have to decide what gifts to buy, what wrapping to use, which phone numbers to accidentally delete. There are many decisions to make as you get ready for the holidays, but one decision that we’re making easy for you is, “Should I buy anything from GOG.com’s Black Friday sale?” (The answer is “yes”, by the way. ;) Not only are we launching the sale early--in case you spend Friday in a turkey-induced coma--but we’re also giving you the power to pick your own promo!

In our Pick 5 & Pay $10 sale you pick 5 out of twenty fantastic indie games and pay $10 for them regardless of the game’s regular full price. That's $2 per game, for such titles like Torchlight, Resonance, Alan Wake's American Nightmare, Botanicula, Geneforge 1-5, Uplink, To the Moon, and many others. Seven of these games are both PC and Mac compatible, so everyone can enjoy!

The games are fantastic--and there are so many of them! That's why we started this sale early: to give you time to pick your dream-set of 5 games out of 15,504 possible combinations. You could look at this as another decision you have to make this year, but unlike trying to figure out who you should sit next to your slightly crazy uncle at Thanksgiving dinner, this one’s fun!

Black Friday marks the start of the “shopping season” for the holidays, so don’t forget to buy the gift of GOG for a gamer you love--or even just kind of like. You can’t spread much more holiday joy than this for just $10.
Great, but I already have 15 of the games in Steam. I know that here they are drm free, but I don't need them twice. Other 5 doesn't interest me. :(

TheEnigmaticT: I would think this would be the kind of thing that you'd be happy about, that we listen to people like you, rather than something that you seem to be casting in a negative light.
I don't think I've seen Simon casting anything GOG.com did in a positive light.
EDIT per Simon's request: in over a year

SLP2000: One thing - agree with you on your statement (about steep sales not being a good long-term strategy).

TBH, I'm now wondering if I should ever buy indie game on a 50% off promo sale, since I paid twice more than I would if I wait for pick 5 pay 10$ sale.
You mean you'd pay less then you would with the pick 5 pay 10, no ?

SimonG is one of the few that still see games as Art and not cheap marchandise, so I understand him.

The answer to that is always, "Would you rather play it now for a little more, or wait and hope it goes on sale?"
Good promo, but I already have a large backlog and don't need to add any more games to it.

I'd probably invest in a time machine and travel through time searching for the best promos...
It might even come cheaper then buying All the games right now :-).
This promo definitely isn't for me. I own 90% of these games from bundles. Would've been great if there were non-indie games in the list (aside from Alan Wake which I already have on Steam).

Related to Wishbone's post, there are only 2 games there I don't already have or haven't already tried and disliked. I really want the Blackwell Bundle and To The Moon, but that's it. I bought Resonance when it came out and already own Gemini Rue on GOG - even then, that'd only be 4 games. I'd then have gone for Alan Wake, but I already own that on Steam from a pre-order sale ages ago. It's a good deal, but as Wishbone says, it'll be quite rare for people that like any of the games to still not have 5 of them. It's also a shame that two of the games, Trine and Torchlight, both have superior sequels out now for affordable prices, Trine 2 in particular being a huge improvement over the first.

he's purchasing enough on GOG to have the right to criticise. unlike some of the freeloaders here who keep coming to GOG's defense (as if it needed defending) yet are always too broke to purchase releases they welcome as "great".

No, I said that I paid about 80$ for 19 games that are included in this promo (5 of those I bought today for 10$ total), and if I wait, i'd pay only 40$ for all 20 games.
Great deal, already own most of the games here on GOG and the rest don't really interest me but it's a great offer for those you haven't tried them yet.

If it was the answer, I'd almost always say "wait".

For me, the answer was "some games are removed from GOG catalogue, so buy them when you can".

Didn't know this was an oligarchy.
