Navagon: I think that GOG really need to open up the lower end of the pricing structure they have now. The only reason we don't have some classics on GOG is that they'd be twice the price here than they are elsewhere.
Which 'old' classics would fall into this category?. Even at retail (here) older classics rereleased on budget labels go for between $10-$20 AUD.Would expect digital release for these to be much lower....

Yeah, but you live in Australia.

Even those games that aren't banned there are still twice as expensive as anywhere else. So retail Australian prices aren't really a good measure of anything, I'm afraid. Nor are digital releases that are affected by regional pricing.

Why? Because apparently the shipping cost that affect retail copies also affect the cost of sending bytes through the series of tubes.

But rest assured that there are old classics on sites other than GOG and the only explanation for their appearance there and absence here is that the price is a lot lower than $6.

You didn't answer though. What 'old' classics would fall into the category your talking about?.

One that I can think of right away is AVP 2000. Which is usually sold for a lot less than $6. Then there's the X-Com games. But I suppose a bundle could overcome that. The early Civ games are usually sold for less. The first Freedom Force is sold elsewhere for less than $6.

At the other end of the spectrum, Vampire Bloodlines might now be a possibility at $15. I'm pretty sure that's been the only thing holding it back from release here.

keeveek: There are no pricepoints for newer games. Some will cost 11.99, some 14.99 , some 19.99 , heck, maybe some will cost 25.99?

But for oldies, pricepoints remain the same, 5.99 and 9.99 .

TheEnigmaticT said that in one of the threads, I don't know which one, and the search engine is broken ,so you have to trust me :P

It would be nice if they defined what is an 'old classic' game. For me it would be those published before 2000 (and really hard to get either at retail or on digital format):P

So there really are no new Official price points then?.

Yes. There are no price points for new games. It's natural, because every company and game dev is different, and they might want to sell their games at different price.

I hope GOG.com will do anything to sell new games as cheap as possible, but if they put "DRM Free Diablo 3" (hehe) here, I wouldn't expect it to be $20 :P

gameon: Whats that like compared to elder scrolls oblivion?
edit: I'm stupid, forget what I wrote -.- I've read "What's that compared to"

New answer: They're pretty similar. The main story is boring, so I decided to discover the big, open world. While doing so, it became too repetitive to finish the game... Just as in Oblivion :-P
