Finished Gothic 3 a couple of months ago so this looks like a great follow-up . . one for me please
Nice, I'm just playing Two Worlds 1 and I'm liking it a lot, so this holds a lot of promise.

I've never even heard of the tower defense game. Anyone played it? Is it any good?

Roman5: Good release and Fantastic price

DRM free + Extras + All expansion and content included = This is how you do modern releases on GOG, very well done Topware

The price is also Fantastic

This game + 2 expansions = 40 Euros on Steam

The same game + Extras and DRM free here = 10 Dollars

I rate this release a 10 out of 10

Edit: This is also going in my "Amazing value" GOGmix

keeveek: This is the hinted 'classic' release, right?

FUCK THIS EARTH.
Yeah, well about that.

Two Worlds 2 is not only a solid cRPG that deserves every fan's attention, but is also--in my opinion--destined to become one of the classics in the genre.

That being said, calling it a "classic release" in last week's TWoGOG episode wasn't stretching the definition of a "classic". It wasn't even a marketing trick. What it was, was a mistake and that mistake was on my part (as the show's writer), so I need to explain myself.

The production pipeline for TWoGOG demands, that the script is ready for voice-over recording a week before the show is published. That means the game we're hinting at is always two weeks ahead in the release schedule at the time of writing the hint. That's a long time for some re-scheduling to still occur.

Sometimes the schedule is set in stone, sometimes it isn't as much as we'd like, and two weeks ago the only release we were sure about for this week, was Two Worlds 2. I had to go with that--it was Two Worlds 2 or no hint at all. I was going to call it something different than "classic release", but I simply forgot to make that change. TET recorded the thing without giving it much thought, Mr A made the video, and by the time I realized my mistake it was too late to fix it.

That's how Two Worlds 2 Epic Edition became the "classic release" in This Week on GOG, episode 23. Not by design, but by mistake. So no, we did not extend our definition of a "classic" beyond reason ;-)

Anyway--tomorrow a new episode will be made public. It will contain a hint of an actual classic release. That will be the final "classic release" hint. I'm not taking chances calling it that anymore. Next week episode will feature "enigmatic release" hint instead.

Hope this covers it ;-)

XYCat: what's the difference between epic and velvet edition?
And what's the difference between this one and the previous two worlds? I played the first one for like 20 minutes and it didn't really get through to me. Dreadfully modeled villagers spat tons of bullshit and random fetchquests at me in a massive landscape presumably inhabited by even more of these guys (and annoying wolves) when i was just ten minutes into the game. I just thought they should take it easy and not just hurl loads of openworld content at me right from the beginning.

Roman5: The velvet edition excludes the Tower defense expansion
Calling it an expansion is pushing it a bit. It's not actually part of the main game, but rather a rather crappy tower defence game and nowhere near as good as the actual game. Honestly, I had more fun with the Stronghold tower defence freebie.

I have the vanilla game boxed set. Not sure whether to buy it again here.

Cool. I hope you will hint mostly classic releases in this though. I don't like making an event of releasing a game that is avaible everywhere in the world. Only when you have nothing better to hint, like in this week.

That can be spectacularly taken out of context.

I own the boxed collector's edition, the complete digital edition on Steam and I will buy it again on GOG because that's the way I want to buy my games: without DRM, with support for my own language and with soundtracks and strategy guides. I absolutely demand to support such great releases.

GOG brings back the joy in buying games for me. :)

spagbol: There's definitely less open world stuff at the start in TW2 and the game looks more polished. Still prefer the first game, personally, even though it's a (very) rough diamond. Nice to see TW2 on GOG though.
avatar
jamyskis: We really need to stop using the TW1 and TW2 abbreviations on here. It's confusing.
I suggest we should use 2W1 and 2W2, at least these won't get mistaken by The Witcher series.
Classic or not this release looks epic. Thumbs up GOG Team!
I just wanted to say thank you GoG, Topware Interactive and Reality Pump for making this DRM-Free no activation limit release of Two Worlds 2 Epic Edition possible.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's exactly the idea. It's a safety measure, not a total concept re-design :-)
