The anti-hero with a symbiotic blade returns with a vengeance.

[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/legacy_of_kain_soul_reaver_2]Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2, fallen vampire’s personal vendetta turned into a video game, is available on GOG.com right now for $5.99.

Just two months ago GOG.com released Soul Reaver and you had a chance to meet Raziel, a vampire-turned-wraith reanimated in the Spectral Realm by The Elder God in order to kill Kain. Well, the fight is not over as Raziel needs to go back through time and continue his quest to destroy the almighty vampiric lord. Soul Reaver 2 picks up at the moment Soul Reaver left off--you’ve chased down Kain to kill him, he’s gone through some sort of time portal. And now it’s time to settle the score. However cliche the story might seem, Soul Reaver 2, even though it’s a combat-focused third-person action adventure, offers a brilliantly written and very intelligent gothic story. The characters, interactions, and tension between them are deep and provide very satisfying interludes between the bread and butter of the game, which is devouring Raziel’s enemies as he makes his way to a reckoning with his creator.

With a great story, beautiful graphics, and a lot of puzzle / platforming elements, Soul Reaver 2 is something more than your usual action-oriented romp. Drift away and kill some extra-dimensional demons in Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2 for just $5.99 on GOG.com.
Fuck i am broken now! =(
Also waiting for Blood Omen too!
Seeing how the first game was one of a very few GOG purchases I played from beginning to end the from the day I bought it (the day it got re-released here) and very much enjoyed, this is an instant purchase for me. Although, this time it'll have to wait until I finish another game called Resonance.

Are we not seeing the original Legacy of Kain : Blood Omen, due to some kind of legal issue with Silicon Knights, Crystal Dynamics, and Eidos ? The 1996 Kain was great I thought.

It's very possible. I know the series rights was granted to Crystal Dynamics but Blood Omen rights I'm not so sure on. I know Silicon Knights is able to take their rightful credit for the game as it's on their sites history. I do know the game has been released on PSN in recent years for PSP and PS3 owners.

I dunno if they need permission from all both CD and SK or just one or the other. The problem may also lie in getting Blood Omen to work. There is a bunch of Fan made installers and fixes to get it to run, but not sure if GOG would be allowed to use those in the game.

It would be outstanding to get that entry here as well it deserves to be here and will be a big shame if not. But as long as we can get all the CD/Eidos sequels here I will be content.

Silicon Knights isn't doing so well right now though. They just lost their lawsuit with Epic games and was ordered to pay Epic like 4million dollars in losses. Their last game also flopped (Xmen Destiny)

N0x0ss: Tried to play blood omen on the psx... frankly wasn't that great... or at lead I didn't find it that great. Too dark to see anything, tedious, etc...
avatar
Licurg: That's because you played it on the psx... The PC version is far superior.

tfishell: Many people have asked about Blood Omen. I get the feeling that GOG sometimes holds off on providing the MOST WANTED game in a series until the "lesser" ones have had an opportunity to sell. ("I want Blood Omen, but I guess I'll get Soul Reaver 2 in the meantime.") However, it could certainly be a tech issue.

Licurg: Lesser? Dude, Soul Reaver 2 is the best part of the series. It was the one with the biggest scores from critics, and also the one with the biggest sales figures...
I'm not familiar with the games, really. I've just noticed many people have been asking about it, which made me suspect it was the "best" one and that GOG was tantalizing us and holding off on putting it up until they had let us focus on purchasing the "lesser" games. I could be totally wrong, though. Maybe it's legal or technical issues.
Holy shit! I I got a heart attack
SOUL REAVER 2 on GOG!

The rights to Blood Omen are actually owned by someone else, so it's a legal issue.
Yeah Blood Omen being made by Silicon Knights and only helped by Crystal Dynamics is quite different than the rest of the series.

The game is most comparable gameplay/combat wise to 2D top down Zelda games. But much more difficult. Also it's the most full and complete entry since it was made as a stand alone title

Add in a very well thought out plot and great voice acting from the likes of Simon Templeman and Tony Jay and you have probably the most complete and well balanced game of the series. It's no wonder that many consider it the best entry.

I think my first playthrough ran me about 50-60 hours. I hope it does get released here eventually.
Great news, great news indeed :)
Yes, yes, yes.
Insta-purchased! Now can we please get Defiance here next, and in a timely manner so that some of us can at least play through Raziel's portion of the series... I'd rather not wait another two fucking months before we see another Legacy of Kain, even if that LoK is Blood Omen 2...

serpantino: Blood Omen has a hell of a lot of plot though which is continued in the sequels.... you miss out on a lot of what's going on if you don't play the first and without playing it there's a lot of what? moments in the sequels, especially Defiance.
You're certainly not wrong, but I'd argue that playing Soul Reaver -> Soul Reaver 2 -> Defiance basically puts you in Raziel's shoes, and that playing Blood Omen after going through those three is just another perfectly viable way of playing through the series.

Licurg: Yes, it is.

No, it isn't.

That is true, however Defiance features both characters and Blood Omen 2 which doesn't have a lot of plot, is just confusing if you haven't played Blood Omen. I guess you could play it after but it's only then that some of the key story elements will actually make proper sense and a couple of the major antagonists aren't explained that well after Blood Omen.
No Blood Omen?! Thats it, we're gonna send the GOGers that are in Poland for the footy to lynch ya!! :P

They can only release what they have, what they have the rights to release and can get to work, so either they don't have the game, the rights to release it or they still haven't gotten it in a decent working shape. Yes I know there are fan fixes and such but the GOG team have to get permission from the people who made them to release them with the game. As for the rights yes Square-enix owns the Legacy of kain IP but Blood omen was made by Silicon Knights and published by Activision not Edios so there may be a rights issue, not saying there is just that there may be one.
Sweet! This is the one I've been waiting to get ahold of...
