Hey guys. My TKD club and I are participating in Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society in April, and I am trying to reach out to see if I can get some supporters.

Thanks for everyone's time.

Edit: I should probably put this here

New Edit: I just wanted to bump this as this is coming up in April in case anyone wanted to donate.

Turns out some people in my club are doing a demo at the event to showcase some martial arts stuff, but I couldn't think of anything cool I could do so I didn't try out. :( Anyway, thank you again for your time.

Stay Classy, GOGers.

Go ahead and PM me the link. Can;t promise anything but I'll do what I can to help.
If you believe in what you are fighting for, stand up and post the link.

You're a member of the community and you are not trying to sell bullshit so... I don't see why it would be a problem.
if someone could post a link to get people to pay for a honeymoon trip i would see no objection at all when someone posts a link to an actual good cause as you are having.,

post the link ;)

Post away. This community loves charity events! :)
You guys are awesome. I actually thought it would be met with negativity.

I actually don't care if I raise a lot of money, just as long as I can raise awareness. As a broke ass college student I completely understand not donating because of lack of money, which is why I decided to find people who actually can. :)
I must say I don't trust this type of foundations at a 100%.
If they find a cure, will they do what is required so even the poor people can have it? Or will it be the choice of any pharmaceutic company that they are in touch with?

Anyway... I just can't ignore that something has to be done, so here it is. Hope it helps!

Thank you so much! I would hope that if they can find a cure it would be made available to everyone, but I understand not fully trusting them. There are some pharmaceutical companies that donate sizable amounts of drugs for people in places such as Africa where river blindness and other diseases take place. I believe Merck is one such company. I can't remember if they're the ones trying to make a Malaria vaccine. Anyway, before I start ranting too much like I am apt to do thank you again!
Yes hopefully there are some of them that have other objectives than pure profit. This is why it would be silly to not give anything ever to that kind of foundations.
Ideally when you give the money the research foundation should inform you on how it will be used and what would be done if a cure was found.
Hey guys, sorry for the bump, but it is still relevant so I hope you will forgive me. Feel free to donate, or just wish me luck so I don't hurt myself as I am prone to do.
Kinda broke at the moment, but certainly wishing you luck!
Ah, the kids at the school where I teach just came around and collected for this :D

Best of luck, mate - my well wishes and congratulations. It's a fine thing you're doing!
Thank you guys. I should wear some sort of GOG thing at the event, along with my belt and whatnot for my tkd club.
I just wanted to give everyone an update.

I actually raised 245 dollars for the event so far, and would like to thank everyone who donated from here.

Collectively my team reached our goal of 1000 dollars raised.

Once again thank you. I will give another update after the event on the 14th this month.
