Attention Painkiller fans, in case you were not aware: There was a brand new expansion released for Painkiller just a month ago! That's right! Our good old Painkiller is still getting new expansions and content, which is really a testament to how awesome the game is and how awesome and dedicated it's community is as well

the new Expansion is called Recurring Evil, I'm currently playing through it right now and I have to say that it's pretty awesome, much better than the previous Expansion packs

you can find more info about it as well as a gameplay video on the Painkiller Zone

http://pkzone.org/news/painkiller-recurring-evil/

It still uses the same graphic engine but the game is still a lot of fun

So then, any chance for Nordic Games to put this on GOG someday? :)

Has anyone else played it yet? What do you think?
If you ask me, nothing interesting happened with that series since Battle Out of Hell.

They are reusing stuff from the original two games for years now and haven't made any real progress for the franchise.
It's all on a amateur level like fan made mission packs from the Doom games.
All the previous post-Battle out of Hell expansions were absolutely abhorrent, so this being better would not be a huge accomplishment. Might pick this one up eventually, but I got pretty badly burned by the sheer, uh, amateurism of the others.

edit: Also, you have to resort to editing ini files in order to change resolution and graphic details? Whaaat? ;/

For anyone interested, John "TotalBiscuit" Bain did a "WTF is ?..." of this game here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYuPdzVM4oY
Don't know about those expansions. Painkiller Battle Out of Hell was awesome, Painkiller: Overdose was meh and Painkiller: Ressurection was horrendous (6 levels badly designed, a bad storyline with Resident Evil 1 grade voice acting, a new weapon that makes the game crash and a ton of bugs that can prevent you from completing the levels (considering some of those levels can be hours long). I stopped checking them afterwards.

I wish People Can Flay could've made some new expansions. At least they knew how to properly design levels for their games.
Played the first two, is this stand alone or do I need a ton of patches to play it?
Is NecroGiant in this time or is this just another map pack?
IMO it's pretty terrible, kinda like everything that came after Battle out of Hell.

Can't watch this on my current internet but TotalBiscuit is usually very informative and thorough in his videos of games, more so than professionals like GiantBomb.
