Directed by Roberta Williams, the person behind the success of Sierra On-Line, Phantasmagoria is by no means a game for the frail of heart. Approach it at your own peril!
[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/phantasmagoria]Phantasmagoria is a horror-themed adventure game, released in 1995, when the popularity of "interactive movie" titles was at an all-time high. It was the best-selling title by Sierra at the time, plus one of the best-selling titles of the year. The most distinctive feature of is that it went where other games never would, causing a lot of controversy worldwide. The thrilling story, whose script was four times longer than that of a regular movie, will have you witness troubling scenes and is bound to keep your heart rate elevated for hours on end... It comes as no surprise, then, that [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/phantasmagoria]Phantasmagoria is a game reserved for mature audiences only.
THAAANNKKS GOG!
Finally getting a chance to play this.
Not only two new releases. But one of them is a pack of three nice!
To those who've played it, what kind of adventure game is this? The 'can go horribly wrong' kind or the Lucasarts kind?
The 'can go horrible wrong' kind, quite a few entertaining, gory ways to die in this game.

I don't think you can end up in an unwinnable situation in this one. Dying is a part of the game, though. For obvious reasons.
HOLY--

Yeah, I bet. :D But so long as you haven't been playing it for ages and then find out you have to start over. That's just annoying. Having to reload a save game because I died is something I can live with.
I've been wanting to try this game so I'm definitely picking it up!
Fuck yes! Thank you gog! I'm gonna give you a lot of money today:) happy happy day!
On a more serious note, was this the one featuring Roberta Williams in a bathtub? Because I'm avoiding whichever game has that.

I know Phantasmagoria 2 doesn't have it, so...
This was the first adventure game with real video that I ever played. I loved it at the time, and I'll always have fond memories of it. Admittedly, it hasn't really aged that well (unlike Gabriel Knight 2, hurry up GOG!).

Okay, I just Googled it and apparently it's a game called Softporn Adventure.
Um, GOG, could you get that on here?

That's the cover of Soft Porn Adventure you're thinking of. Roberta's the one on the right.
Might get this if people report on it running well with Dosbox since I hade loads of trouble with it back in the day and never could get sound.
