It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

cogadh: Why is the downloader better than using Firefox? Its not like the current version of the downloader app gives you any features that Firefox doesn't already have, plus its buggy, which Firefox generally is not.

Firefox isn't bad, but I've found it to be somewhat slow and to occasionally drop the connection for large files. Disclaimer: I may be crazy.
When I download big files (eg linux DVD distros) I like to use Orbit Downloader, which can do multi-part downloads and recover from dropped connections and so on. (I wish I could use it on GOG)
I didn't try downloading on a flaky connection (or manually dropping my connection...), so I suppose I don't know how the GOG downloader is in that respect. It was (claimed to be) fairly speedy. It also has a nice shiny skin. :-P

As far as I know, only GOD Downloader is able to pause and resume downloading games (it has something to do with acces to the account), and it is its biggest adventage.

bugreport:
I'm using hungarian keyboard layout, and to get a @, I have to push AltGr+v. The Downloader does not seem to support this.
(since it does support copy-paste, I did manage to login, but it is still uncomfortable)
Other than this, ti works.
oh, and n+1th-ed:
-support for downloading larger extras
-minimalize to tray

My connection is shaky at times and the downloader deals very poorly with this. I have had to sit on it and hit resume repeatedly. If my connection drops and reconnects, it will not allow me to resume as it thinks I am still offline, so I closed it the when it was almost done it gave me an error and the whole download was gone! Very frustrating. Now it say file corrupted and I have to start over... this is like the fifth time. Okay, started over... now it says it's paused, but the resume button is grayed out.
Gah... now it went back to -1!
I give up!

Ok, I'm a stubborn old coot, and I never give up ;)
So I had to try one more time, and finally got'er done...
Now I'm downloading FS2, and I've already had to start from 0 from around 500gb. But it seems to be running much better, I'm over 800gb now. Sometimes it pauses and does not allow me to resume, then I close the app and reopen it, then I can resume.
I'll be passing on the GOG downloader, since I switch between Mobile Broadband and a filtered in-house connection that is twice as fast, and I don't want to have to restart the entire download after waiting for two hours for it to complete (like I did for Fallout today).
The GOG downloader insisted I had -1 of the 505 MB download complete, and that's after getting 380 MB of it done.
Switching to my normal downloader, it not only handled the download, including pausing and resuming, but it handled off a switch from mobile to in-house connectivity, AND it finished the job so I can actually play my game.
Now to go read the manual (which may be better packed WITH the game in most cases).

Dude, it's beta relax.
I've got to try this downloader as i'm having some issues downloading a game I bought. The game downloaded(through my browser) 10mb-80mb then cancels and says the download is complete but the file is corrupt.
Have you guys tried minimising the installer with winkey+D? It should work (can't try now, I'm on my mac).
