I am now downloading the new 2.0 installers for my gog backup where available. I am wondering if I can now remove the 1.0 installers from my hard drive. Are there any chances of a compatibility issue with a 2.0 installer where 1.0 installer works fine? In short, should I keep the 1.0 Installers or not?

I would appreciate a response from GOG team :)

There was some game already mentioned which had a problem in the 2.0 installer.

I wouldn't keep both though, rather I would wait for everything to smooth out a bit before replacing.
I haven't found any advantage in the new installers vs. the old ones, and if the game is the same version as before (not updated), then I would keep the old ones over the new installers and save bandwidth, because in the new ones, for example, to check something similar as the old "Integrity Check" before the installation, you have to: "right click over the file -> select Properties -> Digital Signature -> Details" and see if it's valid. It's similar, but not the same. I prefer the old checker.

But that is just my humble opinion :)

I guess it is better to keep both installers if there is no official response

2 hours is hardly long enough to get an "official response". :)

That said, the games should *generally* work fine in the new installers if they worked for you in the old ones, but there are a few legacy problems that may crop up. I'd suggest, if the game works for you, hold off on redownloading it, since at that point it's immaterial whether it's the new installer or not. It's the working one.

Thanks a lot for your reply!

PS: I was not complaining in my last message. Just thought it would be a better idea to keep both until receiving an official response :)
