It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Most recent version:
0.9.0.1224 .

UPDATE 22.04.2011:
We have uploaded a new version of the Downloader (0.9.0.1218). Please download it at your convenience and let us know if any of the problems you experienced earlier still persist.
Major changes include:
fixed problems with logging on,
the Downloader no longer attempts to move files after changing the destination folder,
you can now change the number of concurrent downloads (1 to 10) in the Downloader's options, in case you think the Downloader is overusing your connection.

UPDATE #2 (22.04.2011):
Version 0.9.0.1224 is out, introducing some backend fixes.

Can you please open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and do a search for gogdownloader? Do you have a following key there:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\gogdownloader?

crazy_dave: I put the link into the web browser and ... nothing happens.
Same question as above :)

Ubivis: Which Browser are you using? Chrome has a problem with these links, Internet Explorer works fine for me (except the faulty downloads over and over again).
Can you please explain a bit more the faulty downloads part? Are you getting some kind of error?

shadearg: I queued Two Worlds for download with version 0.9.0.1224 last night, but the installer was left in chunks; it never combined. The odd thing is the download was marked as complete, so it must have went through the combine and integrity stages.
interesting - did you change the destination folder during the download maybe? can you please try downloading another game now and see if this happens as well?
avatar
Ubivis: I used the Explorer to go to my download directly and started the setup. The Integrit Check of the Installer failed. Redownloaded it, same result. It was: Another World
Can you please try downloading another game with the latest version of the downloader and see if this happens? Just in case, please remove any part files left in C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\GOG.com Downloads

SolRevr: No matter what I try it crashes after I enter my login information.

The last version of the downloader worked fine for me, .930. I wish I hadn't uninstalled as there doesn't seem to be a downloader archive unless I'm completely missing it on the site.
are you using the v0.9.0.1336 available at http://www.gog.com/download/GOGDownloader.0.9.0.1336.zip ?

Kheperu: Same problem for me. The download stops after 508KB.
Tested with FF4 and IE9.
The download should be fixed now, sorry for the inconvenience. Please use My Account -> My Games to grab the latest version (v1372) as it contains multiple important bugfixes over v1336

Lhademmor: I see a bunch of people had problems logging in to the downloader back in May last year. I remember I had too, but then suddenly it started working again.

Now I have formatted my computer, got the GOG Downloader and lo and behold the problem is back: I cannot login to the downloader using the same credentials as I log in to the site with.

What should I do?
Keep in mind that capitalization of the email address may complicate issues; write it all lowercase in the downloader and see if that helps things.

Somesz: Sad it doesn't work for me...

I've turned on the gog downloader mode at "my games", I clicked on the "Game installer" and it opened a new tab on my browser like "Page cannot be display" or something like that. The link was gogdownloader://game_name.

Sorry, I don't know exactly the english Firefox's typical error message.
Do you have GOG.com Downloader 3.0+ downloaded from http://www.gog.com/downloader? This topic is about a year old version - please make sure you have Downloader 3.0+ installer and if you'll continue to experience the problem, please post in this topic instead.

PS: Closing this one.
