On GOG.com it is VERY hard to keep my games updated.

- NO informations about updates (why there is no e-mail notification or something?)
- NO update history for every game (with release date, detailed improvements, reasons for the update and so on)
- NO informations about the detailed version number BEFORE I click on download
- NO information about the date of the last change/update of a download file

This is the weakest point of GOG.com im my eyes! (...and it annoys me very)

Is it too much to ask to post the full version number and the release or update date next to the download link?

Thanks!

Take a look at the stickies, they might provide you some more info. You get a notification (which will be displayed near your My Account icon and more info about the update is shown in the general thread (see link). But more improvements in regards the updates is always welcome :)

+1

also when the 'main' game gets the 'latest' patch absorbed into it that throws me off as well.
ie:
game v 1.0.5.exe
+
patch game > v 1.0.6.exe

evolves into just game v 1.0.6.exe

i need a few pokedexes to keep up with it. . . and i am losing track.
:(

GOG pls : " post the full version number and the release or update date next to the download link"
Lots and lots of people have complained about this, me included. GOG's attitude appears to be "what we're doing is good enough". To be fair, they do post changelogs in the game specific forums, but when you log in to find that 5 of your games have been updated, having to go to 5 separate game specific forums to find out if you need to redownload any of them is a tremendous pain in the ass. The changelog should be on the account game card, with the installers.
It's not as bad as their customer support, been waiting nearly a year for them to ask the Dev.

adding one more,

If you don't download the patch quickly. A few more days it will gone and all you have to do is download the full game something like 5 GB? :P

Yes, since we can't autopatch games like steam does, we need more information to do it properly ourselves. Some kind of "library" of when and what was updated is sorely needed.

I jump on the occasion to commend Judas relentlessness on that subject.

Fair enough, but that is the old age and the grumpy mood talking.

As I said elsewhere, there should be a changelog page somewhat like the wishlist one.
I aggree with first post.

But, but... Doesn't "GOG.com" stand for GrumpyOldGamers.com?

It often feels like that for sure ;-P

(Emphasis mine)

This should be an option.
there is a wiki (fan made I think) were it tells you the history of updates and changes that a game had in the past and what those update did, dont remember the web now but it's easy to find in google, I know it's not the same as an official track but its something :P
I agree with the OP.
I'll admit to giving up on updating any of my games anymore, I would really appreciate that optional client right about now.
