HijacK: Adalia flipped power role. CSPVG said before the ending of Day 1 that he has the same ship model as adalia. This doesn't prove he is scum. However, I theorize it proves he has a power role.
avatar
dedoporno: Others may have figured the same already, or not. Do you think it's a good idea to focus attention on a potential power role?
Generally speaking, no, however in this case since he alone put himself in danger, I want to extract information.
If he's not scum, but he is taken down during the night, we are left with no information outside of what Telika's post will tell us. If he is scum, well then, there won't be many claiming the same ship model as adalia.
avatar
mrkgnao: I believe you forgot yogsloth from your list.
He actually smuggled him as town, stating the same for himself.
I'm sure the fact that CSPVG had a power role has occurred to the majority of us, but it is something we should not really get into a discussion about. If CSPVG is town and has a power role why discuss it? Are you trying to paint a target on his back? I have him leaning scum at the moment, but if I'm wrong and he is town with a power role the last thing we should do is start trying to find out if it's true. There is obviously people with power roles, but the last thing we want is for them to be brought to light as the scum will start killing them off.

I agree with this in most cases, however, given the way in which he claimed the model leaves for little room of gamble. And how come you are so sure he is town? I see the point you're trying to make, but let's not dismiss possibilities.

trentonlf: Are you trying to paint a target on his back?
Especially after you made yourself uninteresting for the mafioso with your claim :)
avatar
trentonlf: Now my assessment of what is going on now...
avatar
mrkgnao: I believe you forgot yogsloth from your list.
I have already said I think yogsloth is town, even if he is jumping to wrong conclusions. From day 1 I have said that I believed either adaliabooks or yogsloth were scum, but not both. Since adaliabooks flipped scum yogsloth is town in my opinion.

@Hijack, I never said I think CSPVG is town just that there is the possibility he is. As I said I have him leaning scum, but if I'm wrong proving he has a power role gets us nowhere but a dead townie with a power role once the night starts.

mrkgnao: This sentence positively forces me to re-evaluate my reading of HijacK. It is so shockingly anti-town that I am left speechless.
avatar
HijacK: And that is the risky play I was talking about in my novella post. Since most people ignored it, I thought of going on with it. CSPVG single handedly indicated he has the same ship model as a power role scum. I want to see what he claims.
You have single-handedly signed CSPVG's death warrant. If the town does not lynch him, the scum will kill him at night.
Someone who by your own admission could be the town's strongest power role.
And as for the scum already "figuring it out". They obviously didn't because otherwise they would have killed him last night.

As for your risky play, you said "what I want to attempt is a risky play, and I don't want to do so without a good portion of those here agreeing upon proceeding further". I didn't see anyone agreeing to it. When I don't talk about something it does not mean that I agree with it. It means that I don't want to talk about it.

Funny thing, though. As you already said most people should have already thought of CSPVG's possible power role because of the ship model. So why was flub NKed and not him?

You don't know that for sure. I said I'll take a risk, and here I am.

That is not how things work. Scum couldn't have killed him since the discussion of ships being related to roles wasn't up in the air as hot as it is right now, and with no confirmation whether there is a link or not, flub in the end got NK'd. That pretty much gave us the name of the ship model which is vanilla. Also, how are you so sure he is not scum? I find it disturbing you say it with such confidence.

I went ahead anyway. Rob's post made me think of a new angle to this risky play (whether the scum have the same ship model or not), so I pulled the trigger. What's done, it's done. Now I want to see how well it goes.

That is something I asked early on in day 2 (post 619) that no one seemed interested in talking about. Why was flub the night kill? I have not really come up with a good reason as to why as nothing flub said or did stood out.

I haven't come up with any decent reason why he was NK'd outside maybe his experience. We'd probably have to know the thought patterns of scum to figure this out.
Alternatively, we can ask Mrkgnao why JMich was NK'd the first day of game #22. That may give us some insight.

HijacK: Also, how are you so sure he is not scum? I find it disturbing you say it with such confidence.
I don't know whether he is scum or town, but until I have firm suspicions, which I do not have, I will not risk killing a power role just to satisfy my curiosity.

It's a real pity.

What I was asking was, why wasn't CSPVG the NK.

Either the scum did not think he had a power role or he is scum.
