I bought my first game from GOG and I love how there were some prepared open source games for painless free download and installation not to mention how awesome the distribution set up is!

I am very pleased I can buy a games here for immediate download and if its for my wife - she can grab it - and if its for me I can and we can both play what we want when we want!

I totally hate pirating since I've been a programmer for 30+ years and I know good developers usually don't get what they deserve - so this isn't about that - it's about GOG setting me up to enjoy my purchased titles without hassle.

Like my wife wanted Dungeon Keeper - so I bought it - I tried it - I don't like it - but it was her - and she plays it meanwhile I was trying the free games out - no hassles!

Great job GOG - and great prices! I'm glad you are in my list of online download-immediately software solutions!

Thank You,
Jason
Congrats on your first purchase and welcome to the forums!

After a 5 year dry spell of NOT buying and playing ANY games, because I was so disgusted with DRM, I discovered GOG in 2010, and never looked back!

I've found that great help can be found in the game specific forums.

Oh yeah, welcome to GOG and the forums!

(I'm in the +30 years of programming group as well)

Welcome to GOG.com. May you find some truly excellent games here.
Warm welcome! I hope you'll find your favourite games here :>

Good Old Games community is such a great thing, you'll know it soon :)
Buy a game, download an .exe, install it. No extra bullshit, exactly as it should be. Too bad extra bullshit is the industry standard now.
Welcome! Glad to hear you've had a good experience. I hope you and your wife both continue to enjoy good games from GOG. :D
With much drama going on in plenty of threads, this one's quite refreshing :-)

Thanks Jason for bringing such a positive vibe out, welcome to GOG!

Please excuse my ignorance. Which games on GoG are open source?

Welcome to the GOG and enjoy the stay here. My motto quicly became: " Come for the games, stay for the community".

You will quickly see that people here are very helpful and friendly enough.

That, too. But without the nice community gathered here, the place will miss a certain something.
