Tropico 3 Gold Edition, the definitive banana republic simulator that puts the fate of an entire nation in your hands, is now available 60% off on GOG.com. That's only $5.99 until Thursday, November 15, 10:59AM GMT.

"El Presidente! El Presidente! The people are gathering outside the hacienda! They have machetes, and clubs, and petrol bombs! That last round of tax increases was too much. The militia scattered in panic. There's no escape! They want blood, El Presidente! They want blood!"
"Well, my dear prime minister, it seems that the push has come to shove. We'll have to face the consequences of our actions. We'll have to step up, and admit our faults to our people. We'll have to throw ourselves at their mercy. Of course, by "we" I mean "you". They will probably hang you, my poor man. But the important thing is, that the republic will prevail! I will lead it to a brighter future once again."

Tropico 3 Gold Edition will put you in a position of absolute power over a small tropical island and give you the chance to shape its future--may it be prosperous and bright or bleak and oppressive. All depends on your capability to manage a plethora of dynamically changing factors, and your inclination for despotism or benevolence. You'll even get the opportunity to walk the streets of your city-state yourself and witness the everyday happiness and prosperity of your nation. There's a procedural mission generator, so no two games will look alike and the Gold Edition of the game comes complete with the Absolute Power expansion.

Time to grow a beard, put on your sunglasses, and strap all those medals and decorations to your uniform. Everything to get that "El Presidente" vibe goin', while you grab and play Tropico 3 Gold Edition, for only $5.99.

Telika: Question too : I have (and love, and suck at) Tropico 1. Is there a reason to get that one ?
I'd say the first part of your post pretty much answers the question in the latter. If you enjoy Tropico there's a good chance you'll enjoy this one as well. Or you might enjoy it even better, as there's a good deal of new ideas and mechanics in this iteration.

It was launched at 33% off (14.99 - 5.00 = $9.99). The normal price has always been $14.99.
