tfishell: Stories like these are good to remind GOG that not everyone can necessary play the latest games, even low-budget indies, so good old games only requiring DOSBox's system requirements (512 megs of RAM and such) are still welcome. I just recently got rid of an XP machine that I had essentially for 9 years, and GOG gave me entertainment for several years when the vast majority of Steam games I'd never be able to play. When back home from school, I didn't have internet access over the summer at my house, so I'd download classics at work and take them home to play - Unreal Gold, Postal 2, and Serious Sam Second Encounter.

Being forced into these situations really makes one savor what entertainment they can find.

tfishell: Out of curiosity, what other games did you play?
Well, in fact, I played A LOT of Disciples 2 (both classic and Rise of the Elves), a little Quest for Glory (just for old time's sake), a little Masters of Orion 2, Arcanum (rebuilding my necromantic DOOM elf), and quite some Gemini Rue until I got frustrated with it and punted it.

Then a friend came along and gave me his computer (a wonderful chap!) and I was able to return to the world of proper, modern gaming, in time to play the freshly released Transistor. Wonderful game. Now that that's finished, though... I might go back and finish that game of Disciples 2. A second Bethrezen just showed up. I wonder what THAT'S all about! (I didn't realize Disciples 2 actually had some interesting plot in the midst of all that levelling and murdering)
