BlackDawn: I don't believe Techland have what it takes and Dead Island was messed up big time.
I admit, my confidence was a little shaken when I saw all the Dead Island... hopefully it turns out well regardless.
Looks nice, but honestly for a while I was stopped at reading "randomized levels and loots" as I am not too keen on those things. I prefer fixed, properly designed levels. Not saying that randomized ones cannot be properly designed, though.

I think you are right. The Dead Island games leave a lot to be desired so Hellraid will most likely just be Dead Island in a dungeon... Not very well optimized, boring....etc

I was mistaken about the levels. They appear to be not generated randomly. There will be random loot tho.

Ah, now that's a different thing. I don't mind random loot. Thanks for the info.

It was my favourite game of the year, particularly after playing it online with two good friends of mine. I don't get where all the hate comes from. If Hellraid is just Dead Island in a new scenario and with some tweaks I'm gonna be happy.

When you are playing with your friends, even a mediocre game can be very enjoyable.

At least in some cases, yes. But frankly I also enjoyed Dead Island a lot when playing it alone, at times even more than online. To me Dead Island was pretty much the Diablo I always wanted, minus the awesome Gothic fantasy setting (but still a setting more fun for me than Borderlands'). Since Hellraid seems to basically be Dead Island *with* an awesome dark fantasy setting it can easily turn out to be an almost perfect game for me.

Really, my biggest issues with Dead Island were mediocre quest design (which was somewhat improved in Riptide) and the exact same enemies respawning in the exact same spots. Both are things that may very well get fixed in Hellraid so I should be happy with that one. My hope is that Hellraid is gonna be what Hellgate London should have been (which in concept was fantastic, IMO, just the execution was meh).
Looks like my kind of game :)

You mentioned quests already, story ones were poor and repetitive as hell too. Combat system is a joke - all weapons degrade in 10 hits or something. You start off with a fully upgraded and repaired crowbar and after a single zombie encounter it's down to 20-30%.
The most annoying is that the game forces players to loot same trash cans a million times.
