GameRager: The first dog is avoidable if you crouch and stay far from the dog(so your vision is bluish)....also don't look at the dog or you become scared and you make a noise/move that alerts the dog. Did you look at the dog? That's prolly why he saw you........your char panicked.
To be fair I just hacked it up with the pickaxe. It had pissed me off by that point so it was time for some revenge.

If you sneak up behind it then it's a lot easier to take down. I killed off the ones later on too. But they're only possible if you don't let them run off and get reinforcements. It gets bad then.
