If you're reading this now, then I was successful at starting a new thread...but I have not been able to *reply* to a single post since late last night. I thought it was because the game download was slowing it down, but now the download is complete and it still won't post my replies. It just churns and churns "Please wait... Processing..." for up to HOURS. I've tried logging out and logging back on, changing computers, nothing works. But I can START a thread, just not reply.

It's not like I'm uploading large amounts of data. It's a few lines of text and no images. Just text.

Any ideas?

This can be caused by format errors in your post, like if you edited the quotes and some of the quotes that were opened were not properly closed. The system does not give you a hint, it just sits and does the "processing" thing until the cows come home.

I think there is also a length limit, but I'm not sure about that.

I've got both IE and Mozilla. I tend to avoid plugins. I try to keep my browser as clean as possible. (And if you're reading this, then for some reason it suddenly worked - but I still can't reply to my previous threads. (And I don't think I said anything controversial, lol) So...?

And as you see it just worked. But why not on the other threads?

Ah-hah! I bet that's it. I shortened the previous person's quote for brevity. I wonder what I might have deleted to mess it up.

No links. Just a text reply like this one. Someone suggested a problem with editing a previous quote (for brevity) might be the culprit.

Deleting text is OK, but if you take out the little quote markers by mistake, so they don't properly pair up as far as the machine is concerned, an endless unannounced error is the result. I learned this the difficult way...

... And now I see you've learned that if you respond to two posts in a thread in ten minutes, the machine combines them. Disorienting, right?

I've had this issue when using my nokia to access the gog forum : When I post a reply it will also say "Please wait ... Processing..." and stay like that. Thing is if I open the particular thread in a new tab, after a couple of seconds, then I notice my reply has been posted, even while the original tab is still saying "Please wait ... Processing..."

yeah when your quote is even slightly wrong it won't do anything.

Correct, if you don't have your beginning and ending bookmarks for quotes, it will just hang and not post.

I thought something like that could occur, so I made sure that I wasn't double posting. It never did post. I think they're right. I think it's a formating issue with the quotes. I'll try again.

Lol, I was having this problem too, The quote tags need to need correct in order to post.

The format is like this (w/o spaces)

[ quote_# ]
[ /quote ]

edit: and GOGbears add typos to your posts!

Don't forget the GOGbears - they will randomly eat your posts and PMs if they are not regularly satisfied through ritual slaughter of... stuff!
