Well I must admit I like what I see, great job Mr.GOG.com people!
Is there any chance of seeing Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn come to GOG? I really did love that game, and although it's still an old RPG it was one of the best.

Hmmm...
Dunno if the company would permit it...? It still works fine on my P4 3.4ghz with 1.5g ram... Running XP pro too - doesn't really need to be fixed.
I think GOG is more for these 'now unplayable' games that NEED to be patched or fixed for XP and the publishers have long since discontinued monitoring these games...
But yes - if I could buy BG II for five bucks I'd be so in!

It's been established in the past that it's very tricky to get redistribution rights to games where the game rights are held by one party (Interplay via Black Isle in the case of BG I believe), the rights to the setting are owned by another (Wizards of the Coast), and the rights to creating video games based on the setting are owned by a -third- (Atari/Infogrames). While it doesn't have the hurdle that Planescape: Torment does (WotC wanting to kill off the setting), I suspect the legal hurdles for -ALL- the older D&D licensed games may make getting them here tricky.
...which sucks, since I not only want to reacquire a copy of BG1, but also a lot of the SSI games.
If any GOG team members who are in a position to comment on these issues in some detail (detail beyond "getting games where there are multiple copyright holders is hard", I mean), it'd be appreciated.

FWIW, I recently bought a 4-in-1 boxed set of Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 with both expansions for £10. It's still on store shelves here in the UK.
Brenwolf - it would be stupidity beyond belief if GOG EVER gave 'more details' of a potential license! I bet the first thing they sign before money is mentioned is a non-disclosure!
With G.O.G. seemingly going through every Interplay title, classic or not, I would say if they can release BG, they will.
One thing about GOG's prices,is that if you got the original game for under $10 on ebay, still getting the GOG version for $6 or $10 to get rid of the DRM and having an XP/Vista compatible game would still make it a good buy! Then, for your $16-20 you would have a working game with no DRM and the printed manual, map,etc (or whatever came with the original game purchased!)

I think the issue at hand is the combination of the D&D license having moved on and Bioware now being a part of EA. The first may prevent them from releasing the game, just like they are having issues with Torment.
