I agree that the sequels aren't as good as Rendezvous with Rama but Rendezvous is one of the best sci-fi books ever written, IMO.

Regarding the game, to be honest, I've never finished it. Hard enough to make me put it "temporarily" aside and, years later, haven't reinstalled it. But I will. someday :)
The book was fantastic! Really enjoyed it (as well as Childhood's End). Clarke wrote Advent Rising's script, which is actually pretty darn good as well, but...imagine Clarke writing only the first book of a trilogy, and that's AR >.<

EDIT: Meh, my bad. It's Card. Why do I always get the two confused?

Funny, we received an old Collector's Edition copy of the game at the thrift store I work at a few months ago, book included and everything. It took a month or so, but it sold eventually.
